Jason and Kelsey are the dynamic duo behind Cream City Restoration. Whether it’s designer, vintage, mid-century, or local furniture, their passion for furniture burns. Kelsey spent time as a kid going on trips to look for antiques while Jason always loved interior design. Following their marriage in 2011, Jason started to develop the love of the chase of vintage furniture. Jason and Kelsey figured out how to combine their love for antique adventures, interior design, and restoration into one package with Cream City Restoration. As opposed to constantly trying to fill the void in their spaces, they are able to enjoy simply existing in their homes and live better lives because of it.

Following World War II, Kenneth W. Dethloff worked at Sealy, where he learned the ins and outs of the mattress industry. Ken and his wife, Margaret, bought land a barn in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and got to work. Purchasing mattress machinery for Sealy, the couple started Pewaukee Mattress. What started out small ended up needing a factory and storefront in Pewaukee along with three storefronts in Milwaukee. Ken and Margaret went on to have four children before selling the business to two of Margaret’s brothers in 1959. Ken got used to working for himself and only spent a year being an employee before going back into debt, buying an old Milwaukee factory, and founding Milwaukee Mattress & Furniture, Incorporation. The children grew and assisted their parents in the factory before driving the delivery trucks, working the showrooms, and once they earned their keep, running the business.
