Schroeder attended Marquette University before studying ornithology at Utah State. Schroeder took a year off and lived in Alaska working as a game warden. His field supervisor was murdered by poachers, and that is when Bill returned to Wisconsin. Unfortunately, Bill Schroeder passed away at the cardiac intensive care unit apart of Froedtert Hospital in April of 2018. Bill Schroeder is remembered by his wife, Alma, and his daughter, Meg.
